I love photography. I try to take as many photographs as I can and share the decent ones with you on this site. I shoot film, mostly black-and-white that I develop myself at home, and print in my makeshift darkroom. There have been five hundred and fifty-five photos posted so far.
These are photos grouped by a theme, mostly by place and time.
These are the up-to-the-second most popular photos around these parts. I have no idea why.
You can browse groups of photos by filtering the entire archive using keywords/tags. You can browse these on the keyword/tag page or look for them below each photo when viewing them on their own pages. The advanced tag search page allows you to combine multiple tags in a single search.
Every-other-daily photographs of varying quality, in reverse chronological order and mostly of the black and white variety.
There is an Atom feed of the daily photographs.
There is a Mac OS X Dashboard widget of the daily photographs.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you might want to try a random photo, or peruse the complete list.
Most photographs are available for purchase. I make black and white prints myself in my darkroom and are silver gelatin not inkjet. Colour photos are taken to a local lab and printed digitally.

Just so you know, when it comes to making a decent photograph what you hold in your hand isn’t nearly as important as what’s between your ears. Having said that, the following is what I use. Most gear was purchased used.
Mamiya C33 medium format TLR, Bronica SQ-A medium format SLR, Contax G1 35mm rangefinder, Zero Image 6x6 pinhole, Holga, Polaroid ProPack.
I have a 55mm, 80mm and 135mm for the Mamiya C33. The Bronica has an 80mm Zenzanon-S. The Contax G1 has a 45mm/f2 Zeiss T* Planar that is magically delicious.

For black and white it’s mostly Fuji Neopan (400) and Acros (100). They both have fantastic grain, beautiful tone, work really well in XTOL, nice clear bases and dry flat. There’s a bunch of other B&W in the fridge: Efke R50, Maco IR820, Kodak 320TXP and 400TX, heck even some original Agfapan 100 and 400.
For colour, it’s Kodak Portra 160NC. I typically shoot film at box speed (or close to it).
Developer is mostly Kodak XTOL mixed one-shot in various dilutions. If I run out it’s Kodak D76 or HC-110. Kodak Stop Bath. Kodak Fixer. Kodak Hypo-Clearing Agent. Kodak Photo-Flo.
Ilford MGIV resin-coated in various surfaces and sizes. Oriental variable-contrast, double-weight, fibre-based.
Kodak Dektol. Ilford Selenium Toner. Kodak Stop bath. Kodak Fixer.
